## 1. Overview & Commitment to Privacy
|
|

The **Brightwheel Memories & Reports Exporter** Chrome Extension was built with a strict **Privacy-First** architecture. We believe your family's personal memories, child photos, videos, and daily records belong exclusively to you.
|
|
|
|
**This extension does NOT collect, store, track, sell, or transmit any personal data, media, credentials, or telemetry to the developer or any third-party servers.**
|
|
|

## 2. How the Extension Operates
|
|
|
|
- **100% Client-Side Processing**: All data extraction, image/video downloading, ZIP archive packaging, and HTML report generation occur locally in your browser memory and on your device.
|
|
- **Direct Communications**: Network requests for data and media are made strictly between your browser and Brightwheel's official endpoints (`schools.mybrightwheel.com`, `*.brightwheel.com`, `*.cloudfront.net`, and AWS S3 storage buckets) using your existing authenticated session cookies.
|
|
- **No Third-Party Analytics**: The extension does not contain any tracking pixels, analytics scripts, advertising SDKs, or remote telemetry.
|
|
|

## 3. Data Storage & Local Permissions
|
|
|
|
- **Local Storage (`chrome.storage.local`)**: Used exclusively to store your export preferences (such as selected student ID and date filter settings) locally on your device across sessions.
|
|
- **Downloads (`chrome.downloads` & File System Access API)**: Used solely to save your exported ZIP archive, photos, videos, CSV spreadsheets, and HTML viewer directly to your local computer.
|
|
- **No External Data Retention**: We operate no remote databases or servers. If you uninstall the extension, local settings stored in Chrome storage are automatically deleted by the browser.
|
|
|
|

## 4. Third-Party Services & Trademarks
|
|
|
|
This extension interacts only with Brightwheel's web application to help users back up their authorized family records. This project is an independent open-source tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Brightwheel.
